This cozy place has become a family favorite since Martha Flint recommended it years ago!
Our dinners came out of the kitchen with steam coming out of the plate it was plentiful, and delicious.. We'll be back again and again.
Owner of the camp we've gone to on Long Lake for 10 years highly recommended. We finally went. Food was great, which is the only reason I've even put up one star. Service was TERRIBLE. Server totally ignored us, we had to ask for things as she was passing by, she would grunt a reply. There were three of us, everything was tossed on the table in threes. Owner didn't know the location of a business in town, and just said, "No," when I asked him. Server stood and talked to the folks at our neighboring table, showing them photos off of her phone, even as we sat there waiting for our check. We will not go back.
I just had some takeout so I can't comment on the dining room. The food I had was delicious. I ordered the Thai salad which was a great mix of veggies and grilled chicken with a peanut dressing. I also had a beef red curry that had bell peppers, bamboo, beef, and curry sauce served with rice. I enjoy spicy food so I asked for three stars which was just right for me. Spicy enough to feel the heat but just right to keep you wanting more.
Food was okay but the portion size was not worth the price. The owner was extremely unwelcoming and wouldn't give any customers the time of day. He seemed quite bothered by everyone, Will not be returning
Fresh and hot food.....great place to try something new. Been here a few times and never been disappointed.
Always loved the food and authenticity
Great authentic Thai cuisine. A family favorite for years!
Chao Thai rules! Best Thai in Maine hands down, super friendly and casual atmosphere.
I've never had bad Thai food. This was no exception. Wait staff was friendly and food arrived quickly. Decor was lacking compared to other Thai restaurants I have been to.
Lovely food, Tom Ka is excellent. Staff is always kind. Atmosphere is meh but comfortable. Great for take out, I am never dissapointed
Love the green curry
Awesome food, and super fast!!
We have eaten here several times. Excellent food & great value! Truly wonderful proprietors! A hidden gem!
Great meal!
Food. OK. Nothing that really screams authentic. I'd eat there again. Service and environment leaves something to be desired. Bland describes the set up. Tables not set. No condiments. Service was far from personalized. Tea came out boiling and couldn't be drank until we had to leave. Worst part was at 140pm the waitress came over and said " we are closing" and walked off. This made our group feel extremely uncomfortable. They then watched us force down our hot tea before we left. I give the cleanliness of the bathrooms negative 1 stars. Is that possible? Over all food was average, service and cleanliness was uacceptable. wont be going back in a hurry.
Great food and relaxed atmosphere.
Always wonderful!!
I've only done take-out, but the kao soi is incredible!
Delicious khao soi and fried rice, best Thai myBoyfriend and I have had in New Hampshire/Maine area. Quick, well spiced and totally hit the spot. Can’t wait to order from here again!
We happened to stop in here recently, had not been for awhile. All the three items we ordered were exceptionally delicious, and quite reasonably priced. I was happy to have enough left over to take home for a second helping! We had Spring rolls, Curried chicken, eggplant, bamboo; and Thai Chicken Noodle Soup..... deluxe!
I've eaten a lot of thai over the last 35 years..it doesn't get any better than this..
Tasty food but the hostile service ruined the meal for us. When we ordered, we asked if we could hold onto the menu and order takeout for a friend when our food arrived. However, after placing the takeout order, our server announced that they were “out of food” because it had been a busy night. No spring rolls. No noodles. No salad. She then said the cook was “done” and wouldn’t make anything else, complaining that too many people had eaten already. One of our group sighed and asked if could have a beer. No. No beer, they had rung up our order and the register was closed and they were done for the night. The server slapped our check on the table and began cleaning the room. It was 8 pm on a summer Saturday night, the height of holiday season. Perhaps this is a Maine establishment that caters to locals and just hates tourists.
The pad thai is the best I've had, better than the places ive tried back in MA where I live. I had leftovers the next day and ate them cold and they were still freakin' delicious. So happy I got to experience ChaoThai. The only downside was that it was a hot and humid day and the restaurant was really hot inside and it made it hard to eat, so we took most of our food to go.
Our go to Thai place in the area. Everything we've ordered over the years has been very tasty.
We had the worst Tom yum goong, pad thai, and kow soi. Tom yum goong was just a spicy soup with no flavor. Where's lemon glass? And there was only small shrimps in it. Pad thai didn't have the flavor neither and no lime nor chives.... kow soil? If it's take out, do not put the noodle and curry together. By the time we got to eat, the noodle was all soft...
The food seems excellent! A bit pricey for this area, small but comfortable atmosphere.
Fresh. Fast. Attentive. Authentic. We love everything she makes. Never a disappointment.
